One way to distinguish real professionals in the industry is to identify those who have earned the top nationally recognized designations within the industry. All Grubb & Ellis|Harrison & Bates associates are encouraged to work toward attaining the appropriate industry designation for their specialty, and the firm is proud to have several individual members of each of the following organizations.

SIOR - Society of Industrial and Office Realtors

The Society of Industrial and Office Realtors of the National Association of Realtors designates individuals with at least eight years of experience and demonstrated classroom and documented field experience in industrial or office real estate. The average active member has 20 years of experience and has satisfied rigid entrance requirements.

CCIM - Certified Commercial Investment Member

The Realtors National Marketing Institute of the National Association of Realtors designates individuals who have completed a rigorous course of study, passed written exams and met other eligibility requirements based on their performance on actual transactions.

IREM – Institute of Real Estate Management

CPM - Certified Property Manager
The institute of Real Estate Management of the National Association of Realtors designates individuals who have completed class work, written exams, written management studies and the required actual years of experience managing commercial properties.

AMO - Accredited Management Organization
IREM also accredits firms that have met additional requirements with the AMO (Accredited Management Organization) designation. Grubb & Ellis|Harrison & Bates has been accredited as an AMO firm.

ICSC – International Council of Shopping Centers

The International Council of Shopping Centers is the global trade association of the shopping center industry. Its 57,000 members in the U.S., Canada and more than 80 other countries include shopping center owners, developers, managers, marketing specialists, investors, lenders, retailers and other professionals as well as academics and public officials.

CREW Network – Commercial Real Estate Women

In 1989, several small commercial real estate organizations came together with a common goal – to advance the success of women in commercial real estate. Seventeen years later, CREW Network has grown to nearly 7,000 commercial real estate professionals in 60 chapters across the US and Canada, representing every discipline within the industry.

GRACRE – Greater Richmond Association of Commercial Real Estate

GRACRE is the only organization in Richmond whose primary mission is to be an advocate for commercial property owners, developers, and related professionals. GRACRE proactively addresses issues affecting the commercial real estate industry in Richmond. GRACRE encompasses the City of Richmond and the counties of Chesterfield, Goochland, Hanover, and Henrico.

ULI – Urban Land Institute

The mission of the Urban Land Institute is to provide responsible leadership in the use of land to enhance the total environment. Founded in 1936, the institute now has more than 30,000 members worldwide representing the entire spectrum of land use and real estate development disciplines, working in private enterprise and public service.

CoreNet Global
